Goodwill Classic Golf Tournament to be Held November 5

WHO:
Honorary Tournament Chair Eddie Robinson, former Major League Baseball first baseman, scout, coach and front office executive of the 1940s-1980s; More than 100 golfers, including several former MLB players, TV personality and Blazing Saddles star Burton Gilliam, and sponsors of the Goodwill Classic; Goodwill Board of Directors and staff members. And, Country Music Hall of Fame artist Charley Pride will sing the National Anthem.

WHAT:
Billed as a “Tournament of Excellence,” the Goodwill Classic benefits Goodwill North Central Texas, an organization that helps rebuild countless lives through its job training and placement programs.

All proceeds from the tournament support Goodwill North Central Texas initiatives focusing on the homeless (GoodwillWorks), at-risk youth (E-Squared), veterans (VetWorthy), the disadvantaged and the disabled (S.T.A.R.S.).

Since its inception in 2008, more than $1.34 million has been given in scholarships, assisting 672 graduates of NTI vocational training programs. In 2017, 9,562 lives were touched through Goodwill’s Workforce Development Programs.

More than 100 golfers are expected to participate in the eleventh annual tournament. The 2017 tournament raised $147,800 for the organization.
