Goodwill North Central Texas and Dallas Public Library Join to Help Public and Private Nonprofits Win Grant Funding

FORT WORTH, Texas (April 1, 2019)—Nonprofits of all kinds need grant funding to do their work, but competition for grant dollars is fierce. To help nonprofits win the grants they need, Goodwill North Central Texas and the Dallas Public Library have come together to bring the Grantsmanship Training Program® to Fort Worth May 13-17.

The Dallas Public Library strengthens communities by connecting people, inspiring curiosity and advancing lives. Jill Azaria of the Dallas Public Library stated, “We’ve seen the incredible value of this training. People who complete the Grantsmanship Training Program go out and win grants. It’s that clear and simple.” More than 140,000 nonprofit professionals are alumni of this dynamic training program, and tens of thousands credit the training for their success in bringing in grant funds to meet community needs. In an ongoing, independent evaluation, 385 alumni indicated securing more than $21M in grant funding within six months of the training.

“This is not a sit-and-listen class,” said Barbara Floersch, The Grantsmanship Center’s Chief of Training & Curriculum. The Center’s highly participatory Listen & Discuss, Do & Review® curriculum engages and inspires as people develop program plans, draft full grant proposals, and then helpfully review each other’s work. “Our trainers make sure everyone gets what they need,” said Floersch. “Alumni return to their offices with real experience, solid work product, a binder of resources, and connections with peers for new partnerships and collaborations.”

The textbook used in class, Grantsmanship: Program Planning & Proposal Writing, has been praised by grantmakers and nonprofits from coast to coast as the blueprint for effective grant proposals.

Class size is held to 30 participants. Tuition is $1,095 and half-scholarships are available for a limited number of qualified organizations. Register, get more information, or apply for a partial scholarship by contacting The Grantsmanship Center at (800) 421-9512 or www.tgci.com or registrar@tgci.com.

The training will be provided at Goodwill Industries, 4005 Campus Drive, Fort Worth, Texas.
