GOODWILL FORT WORTH TO OPEN 22nd AREA RETAIL STORE

Fort Worth, Texas (June 9, 2015) — Goodwill North Central Texas, Inc. announced today that the organization will open its 22nd area store, located at 56 E. I-20 (Mansfield Highway) in Kennedale on Friday, July 10.

The nonprofit will unveil the new retail store at a grand opening celebration. The festivities will include a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 a.m., as well as free hot dogs, soda and popcorn, a live DJ and gift certificate giveaways every hour on the hour for shoppers. The 6,492 sq. ft. retail space has undergone considerable renovations of flooring, fixtures and repainting as well as a complete reconfiguration of space since the organization signed its lease.

“Every retail store that Goodwill opens means more revenue to support our job training and placement programs for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment,” said David Cox, president and CEO of Goodwill North Central Texas. “93 cents of every dollar of profit is dedicated to our mission and we are excited to add these services to the North Arlington community.”

The store opening is part of Goodwill’s expansion strategy to reach as many residents in Fort Worth, Arlington, Weatherford, Cleburne, Denton and surrounding areas as possible. Adding additional locations will increase Goodwill’s ability to expand their services to more individuals with disabilities and special needs. As people battle the effects of a struggling economy, and as the trend to continue to “go green” increases, Goodwill stores are seeing more shoppers than ever – creating a higher demand for more donations to be made.
