Goodwill to provide free uniforms for students K-8
WHO: 400 students and their families; Unity One Credit Union; Goodwill North Central Texas; Fort Worth ISD; United Way of Tarrant County; and Kona Ice.
WHAT: Goodwill North Central Texas will host GoodPop, the nonprofit’s first-ever pop-up shop, at the Unity One Credit Union Gear Up 4 School event. Goodwill will provide the first 400 students with gently used uniforms for the upcoming school year. All merchandise was donated at Goodwill locations in the greater Fort Worth area and hand -selected for the event.
“We are proud to partner with Unity One Credit Union to provide back to school clothing for families in need this school year at GoodPop,” said David Cox, president and CEO of Goodwill North Central Texas. “It’s also a great reminder that our stores have affordable gently-used clothing for the whole family year-round. Revenue from the sale of donated goods goes to support our mission of putting people back to work.”
The school supply giveaway for the Northside community features free food, bounce houses, face painting, booths from local businesses and community organizations and more. Students must be present to receive school supplies and uniforms. First come, first served, while supplies last. Attendees will also receive a coupon good for 50% off a future purchase at a Goodwill North Central Texas location.
